The bigger you are, the harder the budget is to pull together.
It’s also why you have to bring it together.
But a budget is not complete until you have laid out the financial plan.
you can speak to it at the customer level – what is the mix?
You can speak to it at the capability level – How does your marketing, sales, scheduling, and production/delivery need to perform?
You can speak to it from a resources perspective – Do you have enough of the right kind of skills in place?
You can speak to it from an improvement perspective – What major changes do you need to make over the next year?
What assumptions have you made?
Have you done a pre-mortem? (You have a 30% better chance of success if truly discuss all the things that could go wrong in the plan).
