Last night I had an incredible meal at the Canteen.
Alone with Bernadette Jiwa’s excellent book “What Great Story Tellers Know” and a notepad – her story of sitting and observing seemed to be the perfect message at the perfect time.
For those of you who don’t know Doug Townsend and Renee Lavallee and their excellent Dartmouth restaurant – I hope you make time to get to know their story and their purpose.
Their response to the Pandemic – to start a community kitchen which helped prepare over 14,000 meals for the community – was a much needed bit of inspiration in April of 2020. (https://lnkd.in/eiaK9GgP)
The food, last night, was incredible. The service was friendly & brilliant.
Not surprisingly, the restaurant was busy. The buzz of the conversation was soothing. The signs of people congregating provided hope that we’ll all be able to manage whatever the Delta variant might throw at us.
To Finish the quote that started this post – “How we spend our days is how our life goes. How our life goes determines whether we thought it was worth living.”

Last night, I was able to sink into an excellent book, a delightful meal, and support a great power couple and their local creations.
Thank you for finding a way through Renee & Doug!
