Two significant AI updates this week.
And they are both game changers.
I know this feels overhyped. It’s not. The fact is most haven’t integrated AI yet in any meaningful way.
The next two years will see the most economic disruption in human history.
OpenAI is leading the way for the most part.
The two gamechangers:
The Local Models – gpt-oss-120b and gpt-oss-20b.
What this means is that privacy and security is NOT an issue any more. You can host them locally and ringfence it with you’re own protections.
That means Health practionners can use client names and actual data under the exact security they have for their own systems.
AND
ChatGPT5 – It makes the models less confusing. Great for the amateur. As it adapts to the needs. Essentially this was ensuring the doctor didn’t use 04 mini and then get shocked by the low quality of response when they needed 03. Or that the researcher got what they needed from a deep dive on specifics instead of a summary of the web.
The small caveat is that it is more frustrating for the advanced LLM user because they knew how to select their model. The Pro plan still lets you select some models and this has been working very well for me. The final results are quite impressive.
