The Right Prompt Changes Everything!

The right prompt changes everything!

Ever ask ChatGPT a question and get a boring, or worse yet utterly unhelpful answer?

Yesterday I was working with a client who was frustrated with AI. “It just gives me generic answers” she said.

She was right. And wrong.

Here’s what most people do:

“Tell me about leadership”
“Give me investment advice”
“Help me with marketing”

The responses are exactly what you’d expect. Vanilla. Safe. Boring.

But what if you could have a conversation with Brené Brown about vulnerability in leadership? Discuss parenting with Dr. Becky Kennedy? Or discuss value investing with Warren Buffett?

*The more public the figure, the easier it is for them to take on their persona.

You can. It’s all in how you set up the conversation.

And it changes everything.

Here’s a simple example:
Instead of “Give me investment advice”
Try “As Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger can you give me your advice on my current investment portfolio?”

The difference? Night and day.

Three keys to make this work:
1. Be specific about who you want to talk to
2. Give them context about the problem
3. Let them ask you questions

This isn’t just about getting better answers. It’s about having better conversations.

The quality of the output is directly tied to the quality of your input. Garbage in, garbage out as they say.

This technique is directly responsible for the deep and connected moments I now get with my daughter every Saturday morning after hockey.

And yes, I used this technique to help craft this post. 😊

And YES, we’re using it help companies make much better strategic choice in their businesses with Levership. Every Analysis, Every Tool, and every discussion is being amplified with AI.

And the value you can integrate into your life and your business comes down to how you prompt.
