Inertia gives us the appearance of comfort. But if we’re not careful it also leads to a wasted life.
When I was struggling to get control of my chocolate addiction, I made sure it wasn’t in the house. That way, I had to put extra effort in to get it.
When I was struggling to connect properly with my senior leaders, I anchored the meetings in the calendar. The default meant we showed up with an agenda and it acted as a forcing function to maintain alignment.
