OpenAI and Anthropic just made a telling move.

Both companies announced they’re launching or partnering with deployment companies. Organizations that exist specifically to help businesses actually integrate AI into how they work.

The two most advanced AI labs in the world looked at the landscape and decided the biggest gap wasn’t capability. It was integration.

The models are good enough. The problem is that most organizations still can’t connect them to the work that matters.

That tells you everything about where we are.

We’re in the middle of the biggest change management exercise humanity has ever gone through.

And 95% of organizations are still stuck between pilot and scale. Experimenting. Running sandboxes. Measuring daily active users instead of EBITDA.

The economics are shifting too. As AI pricing moves from seat licenses to token consumption, companies are going to start asking a harder question: where’s the return?

And the only honest answer is that the return lives inside a redesigned workflow. Not a tool. A workflow.

The 5% pulling ahead already know this. They’re not buying software and hoping. They’re identifying the processes that drive the most value in their business, and they’re rewiring those processes with AI.

That’s the whole playbook.

Find the workflow that unlocks the value.

Rewire it with assistive or agentic AI.

Measure the output in cycle time, capacity, and revenue, not in logins.

And do it with your people, not to them. That last part is the one most leaders get wrong. The technology is the easy part. The change is the work.

This is the era we’ve been in since 2023. The companies that figure it out first won’t just be more productive.

They’ll be competing in a different category entirely.
